Big Sur lost Barbara Spring this weekend. She was a noted wood sculptor of human characters, creating installations until the very end of her 94+ energetic years. Her work is owned by numerous private collectors and public museums.

Barbara’s passing leaves a hole in my creative memory. I will miss her clear eyes and visions in wood.
I loved Barbara .. She was my best artist friend I had martinis and oysters with her at her house a week earlier.
