“Spectacular Surprises of our Monterey Bay Coast,” a collection of some 12 special photographs of our breathtaking countryside, are now showing at the Aptos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Santa Cruz County until June 18th 2014. Opening Party June 13 from 5-7 (details below)

A photograph I made of our Milky Way and our local Observatory is on the cover of the new newsletter or our local Astronomy group Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy (MIRA) . That brings me a smile.

Even better, it gives me a nice excuse to shine light on this marvelous organization that does world-class Astrophysics research as well as providing a steady drumbeat of high quality astronomy education for our Monterey Bay community.

That was a fun art opening in Carmel last evening. For the first time I participated in a Carmel Art Opening where my work was showing !

It was packed. Barely room for anyone else to squeeze in. 41 photographs and a couple hundred partiers.

Such a treat – Thanks to all you fabulous friends who came to cheer me on.

Nice surprise this afternoon: a note from Center for Photographic Art —

“Congratulations! Your photograph, Milky Way, Big Sur, has been selected by Brian Taylor and Bryan Yedinak, for inclusion in the CPA 2012 Juried Exhibition. This year, 286 photographers submitted 1396 images. Only 41 images were selected for the exhibition, so you are in select company.”
